Mac & Cheese

Serves: 8-10

  • 1 pound elbow noodles, cooked and drained

  • 4 tablespoons butter

  • 1/3 cup all purpose flour

  • 3 cups heavy cream

  • 1 pound shredded cheddar, plus 8 more ounces for topping

  • 4 slices good quality American cheese

  • 1/2 cup sour cream

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic

  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard

Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 9x13 pan.

Melt butter in a large pot of medium-high heat. Whisk in the flour until smooth.

Slowly stir in heavy cream and bring to a simmer.

Stir in cheeses, sour cream, garlic, pepper and ground mustard. Stir continuously until cheese Is melted.

Once the cheese is melted, stir in the noodles until combined.

Pour into the prepared pan and cover the top with remaining cheddar.

Bake for 20 minutes. Broil for 5 minutes until cheese begins to brown.
