Cranberry Sauce

Recipe

Prep: 5 minutes

Cook: 15 minutes

Serves: 8-10

  • 12-ounce bag fresh cranberries, rinsed

  • 1 cup fresh squeezed orange juice

  • 3/4 cup good quality maple syrup

  • Zest from 1 orange

  • 2 cinnamon sticks

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

In a medium saucepan over medium-high combine the orange juice and cranberries.

Stir in the maple syrup, orange zest and vanilla. Once combined, place the cinnamon sticks in the mixture.

Cook until the cranberries start to burst, about 15 minutes.

Remove the cinnamon sticks and pour the sauce in a bowl. The sauce will thicken as it cools.

Note: replace syrup with sugar for a sweeter sauce. I like to make this a few days prior to Thanksgiving and store it in the fridge
